Zee Studios has unveiled the teaser of its upcoming romantic drama Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, starring Vikrant Massey and debutante Shanaya Kapoor. Clocking in at just 58 seconds, the teaser attempts to spark intrigue but ends up leaving viewers with more questions than anticipation.

The teaser opens with an intimate sequence between the lead pair, set against a scenic mountainous backdrop. Vikrant Massey appears with dark glasses, while Shanaya Kapoor is blindfolded, relying on her other senses to connect with the world around her. While the visual metaphor could suggest a deeper thematic layer possibly touching on perception, love, or identity the execution feels oddly off. The chemistry between Vikrant and Shanaya lacks spark, and their pairing appears forced rather than compelling.

Shanaya, who makes her much-anticipated Bollywood debut with this film, is seen dancing with her eyes closed and soaking in the breeze, suggesting a sense of freedom or emotional depth. Yet, the emotional gravity the teaser seems to aim for doesn't quite land. Instead, viewers are left puzzled: What is the story really about? Who among the two is actually blind?

A poster released a day prior teased the teaser’s release date but did little to illuminate the film’s narrative direction. Coming on the heels of lackluster outings like Emergency, Fateh, and Deva, Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan feels like yet another misfire in Zee Studios’ recent lineup, raising valid concerns about the studio’s creative path. The film is set for a nationwide release on 11 July 2025. Whether it can rise above the skepticism remains to be seen.
