Renowned Makeup artist Vikram Gaikwad passes away, Leaves behind a legacy of iconic film transformations

A very sad news has come from the Indian film industry. Renowned makeup artist Vikram Gaikwad passed away in Mumbai. He was famous for making many memorable characters of the film world alive and real with his art. Vikram Gaikwad gave a new identity to the characters with the magic of his makeup in many famous films. He made characters like Kashinath Ghanekar, Balgandharva, 'Thugs of Hindostan', 'Shaheed Bhagat Singh' and 'Janta Raja' more realistic with his special style.

There is a wave of mourning in the entire film industry on hearing the news of his death. His last journey will take place today (10 May 2025) at 4:30 pm at Shivaji Park Crematorium, Dadar, Mumbai.

Vikram Gaikwad received many national awards for his contribution. In 2010, he won the National Film Award for Best Makeup Artist for 'Monar Manush'. After this, he also received National Film Awards for films like 'Balgandharva', 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Jaatishwar'.

Vikram Gaikwad's contribution was not limited to makeup only, he worked very hard to connect the characters to reality. In the film 'Bell Bottom', in which Akshay Kumar played the lead role, Lara Dutta played the role of Indira Gandhi. Vikram Gaikwad prepared this makeup after deep study to mold Lara Dutta into the look of Indira Gandhi.

Apart from this, Ranveer Singh played the role of former cricketer Kapil Dev in the film '83'. Vikram Gaikwad worked hard to make Ranveer look like Kapil Dev, and this look was very impressive in the film. The film industry will never forget Vikram Gaikwad's contribution, and his art will always be remembered.
