Suddenly, there seems to be a wariness in Bollywood on the price tickets of Allu Arjun’s much-anticipated, big ticket release, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. It is being priced at between Rs. 1,800 and Rs. 2,400 a ticket in some premium theatres. Already, a whisper campaign against this is making the rounds. Sources say, the steep hike is a means to maximize the opening collection of the magnum opus that has reportedly been mounted on a huge budget of Rs. 500 crores. A trade pundit was quoted as saying skeptically, “Films like ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ are meant to unite audiences across socio-economic strata, but pricing this high risks alienating key demographics.” The verdict will be known in two days.
