Now, less than a week after its release, the superstar announced his next project. He is foraying into Telugu cinema with Vishnu Manchu's big-scale drama, Kannappa.

Reportedly, Akshay will be seen in a cameo role. While Vishnu is headlining the film, superstars like Prabhas and Mohanlal are said to be making special appearances in Kannappa. However, the news remains unverified.
Kannappa is touted to be a big-scale fantasy drama film directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. It is based on the story of Kannappa, a devotee of Mahadev.
