Boney Kapoor says he wanted to sign Diljit Dosanjh and Priyanka Chopra for film before, it got shelved

Boney Kapoor who recently turned the producer for Ajay Devgn led film ‘Maidaan’ which is a biopic on the Indian football legend Syed Abdul Rahim, shared about working with the singer - actor Diljit Dosanjh.

Diljit who is set to star in Boney’s upcoming sequel film ‘No Entry 2’ has been one of the favourite artists of the producer so far.

In a recent interview, Boney spoke about Diljit and shared that he has been through his work way back and even wanted to cast him in a film alongside Priyanka Chopra once. But the film got shelved.

Boney said, "He (Diljit) was always a good actor. In fact, long time back I had planned a film with him and Priyanka Chopra. It was to be called "Sardarni.' That's the time Priyanka got this offer of going to Hollywood to shoot
for Quantico. So, she asked us to wait for some time."

He further added, "She was offered the second season, so finally we had to give up because she got stuck there, and the kind of appreciation she got, she got certain other offers there. She preferred to make a career there, and we had to drop that picture. “

Boney concluded,  "I've
seen his Punjabi films and even the Hindi films that he has done. He is a remarkable actor, he has a fantastic sense of comedy, his sense of timing is fantastic, a good singer, and a talented guy. So, it's always good to have a fresh mix of actors in a film to get freshness. “

Diljit was last seen in Rajesh A. Krishnan’s film ‘Crew’ which released on March 29.
