Arshad Warsi credits Jaya Bachchan for his debut film Tere Mere Sapne: That woman is unbelievable

Arshad Warsi who will be next seen in the third sequel of the 'Welcome' franchise titled 'Welcome to the Jungle,' recently expressed gratitude for the veteran actress Jaya Bachchan and revealed that it was her who gave him an opportunity to be in his debut project 'Tere Mere Sapne.'

The film released back in 1996 and featured the actor in the role of Ballu. It was directed by Joy Augustine and produced by Amitabh Bachchan.
  
In a recent show, the actor shared,  “That woman is unbelievable. After seeing my pictures, she was sure that this guy can act. But in reality, I had never acted before. She did not even take my screen test. She just saw my photos. But I did not understand why she took me for the film. I had sent ghatiya pictures because I did not have money.”

He further added,  “After a long time, when I finally knew her as a person, I asked her, ‘Jaya ji tell me the truth. Why did you cast me in the film?’ She said, ‘There were 36 photos, and in all the pictures you had different expressions. You were not frightened of the camera at all, and you were not interested in impressing anyone also.’”

Arshad's upcoming film 'Welcome to the Jungle; is currently in the filming stage and will also star Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and Shreyas Talpade.
