Jahangir National University: Is Bollywood ready for yet another C-grade propaganda film before the Lok Sabha Elections?

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is the current fever in town. With actors contesting elections from different parts of the country, the combination of cinema and politics is going to be interesting to witness. Amid this, a new film, titled Jahangir National University (JNU) was announced a couple of days ago. It stars Siddharth Bodke, Urvashi Rautela, Ravi Kishan, Piyush Mishra, Vijay Raaz, and Rashami Desai.

The teaser of Jahangir National University was unveiled a week ago amid zero buzz and anticipation. Going full throttle with politics, the clip is filled with dialoguebaazi and sensationalism. While the loudness in the narration was anticipated, it appears that the makers are forcefully trying to spread controversy for the sake of headlines. A one-sided narrative, Jahangir National University offers nothing unique.

The makers of Jahangir National University, a rather unknown production house, Mahakaal Movies are trying too hard to sell the film as the next The Kerala Story and The Kashmir Files. Sadly, the first impression doesn't convince the viewers about its authentic and balanced viewpoint. It certainly qualifies for brainwash-worthy content to influence the audience before the elections. Unethical at the core, Jahangir National University might trigger negative sentiments which could impact the decision-making skills among voters.

Jahangir National University releases on April 5, which is pretty close to the dates of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Is it a strategic move or a propaganda call? Well, that's what only time can tell but looking at the current mood of the viewers, a film like Jahangir National University will be overlooked and skipped.
