Sara Ali Khan brought Usha Mehta alive: Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson, Tushar Gandhi lauds Ae Watan Mere Watan

Sara Ali Khan's Ae Watan Mere Watan is receiving rave reviews from the audience and critics globally. The Kannan Iyer directorial is streaming on Prime Video currently. The period drama tells the story of Usha Mehta who actively supported the Quit India movement through the medium of her underground radio station. 

As Ae Watan Mere Watan climbs the viewership chart and holds the top position, Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson, Tushar Gandhi, lauded the film and praised Sara for bringing Usha Mehta alive. On X, formerly known as Twitter, Mr. Gandhi wrote, "I grew up knowing Ushaben Mehta. She mentored me in my youth. I had heard tales of her exploits running the clandestine Congress Radio during the Quit India Movement. It all came alive as I watched #Ae_Vatan_Mere_Vatan. Thank you @SaraAliKhan you brought Ushaben alive."

 

Ae Watan Mere Watan also stars Emraan Hashmi, Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O' Neil, and Anand Tiwari. The film, a Dharmatic Entertainment Production, is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Directed by Kannan Iyer, the movie’s film storyline has been written by Iyer and Darab Farooqui.
