Do Aur Do Pyaar teaser review: Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy's film is confusing and stale

Applause Entertainment's upcoming film, Do Aur Do Pyaar, is set to release in theatres on April 19. It stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. The film is directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta. The teaser of Do Aur Do Pyaar released this week. Unlike what was expected, the glimpse into the rom-com failed to spark excitement among the audience.

Do Aur Do Pyaar is an attempt to showcase progressive love. Concepts like infidelity, sex, intimate romance and rekindling of love can be expected to be the crux of the story. The film is centered around two married couples, Vidya-Pratik and Ileana-Sendhil. However, in the bed, the partners are swapped.

The concept of infidelity was explored deeply by Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and that was handled maturely. Do Aur Do Pyaar appears to be a mockery and an over-the-top projection of a tough subject.

Vidya and Pratik are fantastic actors and proved their mettle previously. But, Do Aur Do Pyaar's teaser sheds light on the discomfort they experienced while filming intimate romance scenes. We wonder what lies for the audience in the film. Ileana and Sendhil's pairing appears to be a major misfit.

Do Aur Do Pyaar's teaser is confusing, unappealing and dull. The idea feels stale and boring at a time when cinema is peaking in India due to content-driven films.
