Randeep Hooda is poised to mark his directorial premiere with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, slated for theatrical release on March 22nd.

Randeep Hooda is recounting his journey of preparing for the role of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. In a recent Instagram update on Monday, the actor shared a shirtless photo showcasing his significant physical transformation, prompting comparisons to actor Christian Bale among fans.

In the mirror selfie shared by Randeep on his Instagram, the actor appeared notably slender, donning oversized shorts. His caption, simply stating "KAALA PAANI," suggests a possible transformation to portray scenes set in the cellular jail (Kaala Paani) for the film.

In response to the post, one fan exclaimed, "Our very own Christian Bale!" drawing parallels to the Hollywood actor's physical transformation for his role in The Machinist. Christian is renowned for his meticulous preparation for roles, often undergoing extensive physical changes. Another fan praised Randeep's dedication, commenting, "Just look at the commitment... hats off!" Additionally, a remark highlighted Randeep's past dedication, stating, "You did this for Sarabjit as well, huge respect," referring to Randeep's weight loss for his role portraying the imprisoned character in the 2016 film.

Previously, Randeep had posted images of his visit to a cell in Kalapani, where Savarkar had been imprisoned. He disclosed that during the reconnaissance for the biopic, he attempted to confine himself in the cell to empathize with Savarkar's experience. In the caption, he expressed, "During the recce on his biopic, I tried to lock myself inside this cell to feel what he must have gone through. I couldn’t stay locked for even 20 minutes where he was locked for 11 years often in solitary confinement."

Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, directed and co-written by Randeep Hooda alongside Utkarsh Naithani, is a collaborative production between Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, Randeep Hooda Films, Legend Studios, and Avak Films.
