From throwing a fan's phone to being slapped by a girl for misbehaviour, Aditya Narayan's controversies

Papa Kehte Hai Bada Naam Karega,” is every father's dream when his son steps out in the world to make a career. This song sung by Udit Narayan for Aamir Khan’s 1988 romantic musical has been the anthem for decades. But, “Beta Humara Aisa Kaam Karega,” might not be what he expected from his son, singer-host Aditya Narayan. Udit, who has the sweetest smile and the humblest demeanour, could have never imagined his son, Aditya, being called rude and arrogant for his conduct in public.

Recently, Aditya once again made headlines for his arrogance and short temper. He was performing at a concert in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. His fans surrounded him and recorded videos as he performed to Aaj Ki Raat from Shah Rukh Khan-Priyanka Chopra's Don (2006). A viral video showed Aditya hitting a fan with his microphone. Following this, he snatched the fan's phone and threw it away. The matter of conflict remains undisclosed.

Aditya has been controversy's favourite child. Back in 2017, he was embroiled in a fight involving an airline staff member. He allegedly misbehaved with the person and had a verbal spat. He said on video, “Mumbai pahunchne de, teri chaddi nahi utaari toh mera naam Aditya Narayan nahi (Let me reach Mumbai. If I don't strip you, then my name is not Aditya Narayan).”

That's not all. In 2011, Aditya was slapped by a girl at a pub in a five-star hotel. Reportedly, he was intoxicated and was with his friends and then-girlfriend now-wife Shweta Agarwal. The singer reportedly passed a snide comment on the girl and kept falling over her. When the matter got uncomfortable for her, she slapped him. In an official statement, Aditya denied the girl slapping him and said, “Do you think any girl can slap me and get away? Whoever this girl is, she is doing it just for publicity. She can say whatever she wants to. I would say she is very dumb.”

Did you know? Aditya was arrested for rash driving in 2018. The Versova Police held him for ramming his luxury car into an autorickshaw leaving a woman injured. He was charged under Section 337 of the Motor Vehicles Act – “no other offenses” – and fined around Rs 10,000, then granted bail immediately. Aditya stated in a statement to IANS, “It was an unfortunate accident... and I feel sorry for what has happened.”

Magar Yeh Toh Koi Na Jaane,” what's the matter with Aditya's rudeness when his father is known for his humbleness?
