Pankaj Tripathi reveals an incident post which he decided not to enter politics: The cops beat me up

Pankaj Tripathi is now a renowned name in the film industry. However, it wasn’t easy for the actor initially to establish himself as a powerhouse of talent. Now, as he gears up to play Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Main Atal Hoon, the actor went on to share in an interview that he had thoughts of foraying into politics but an incident changed his mind.

He said, “I never thought about entering politics at that time. There was a thought that I might proceed in this line but then there was an arrest and the cops beat me up so I left that thought there and then.”

Pankaj also added that at the same time, he was inclined towards doing theatre and once it was clear that he wouldn’t be entering politics, he decided to pursue acting. 

The actor shared, “It was at that point in my life that I had started getting interested in theatre and it attracted me so much more.”

Main Atal Hoon is a biopic of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The film is directed by Ravi Jadhav and produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali and Sandip Ssingh. It will release on January 19, 2024.
