The much awaited show Koffee with Karan Season 8’s first episode is finally out and this time Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone turned to be the first guests of the show. The duo didn’t only show their official wedding video on the episode but also went on to share some unknown insides of their relationship. One of them being the proposal story. Ranveer went on to talk about how he proposed the actress when both were off for a holiday in Maldives.
Ranveer said, “We were going to take a holiday and I decided that I would propose to her on the holiday. I got the ring and we go to the Maldives and I secretly carry the ring with me and we do the sandbank adventure.”
He further shared that the boat took them in the middle of the sea and there was a point when it was just 2 of them and he felt like it was the perfect time to propose.
Ranveer said, "So, it was just her and me in the middle of the sea. I was like, ‘This is the perfect scenario’."
He continued, “They dropped us off and let and now it’s just her and me on the island and I popped the question, gave her the ring, she did not expect it, and she got emotional. And that was it, she said yes and I felt like the king of the world and then we were engaged.”
Ranveer also shared about meeting Deepika for the first time during the reading of the film Ram Leela in which both the actors starred together.
He said, “There was a famous or infamous reading for Ram Leela at Mr Bhansali’s house in Versova. I was supposed to meet him before Deepika’s arrival. So I was sitting on the table and the door was on my left. He has these heavy doors and he lives by the seaside. So, these heavy doors open and the gush of wind comes from the sea. There, Deepika enters wearing this white chikankari, hair blowing due to the sea wind just like some sadgi ki moorat. I was like 'Oh My God'!”
Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in November back in 2018.
