The first episode of the much-awaited show Koffee with Karan Season 8 is finally out. This time the first guests of Karan Johar's show were the power couple of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. And seems like this episode was all about surprises as Ranveer and Deepika went on to unveil some unknown insights about their relationship over years and even showed their wedding video for the first time ever!
From convincing Deepika’s mother to the official footage from the big day, check out the wedding highlights from the episode:
• Ranveer’s proposal to Deepika
Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot back in 2018 in an intimate ceremony that took place in Italy on November 14 and 15. But the actor actually proposed back in 2015. Yes, Ranveer shared on the show that he proposed to Deepika back in the year of 2015 when the couple was holidaying in Maldives. The actor said that after dating her for just 6 months, he already knew that she is the one and decided not to waste time. As they set on a holiday, without wasting time, he chose the perfect moment and asked her to marry him to which the actress replied ‘Yes’. Ranveer also said that it was an unexpected moment for her so she got emotional at that time.
• Deepika’s mother Ujjala Padukone didn’t approve Ranveer at first, asked Who is this guy?
Ranveer further shared that although both the actors were sailing on the same side, Deepika’s mom didn’t approve the proposal at first. Ranveer said, “I was sitting at the head of the table with my hands and mouth engrossed and suddenly absolutely out of nowhere, she (Deepika) was like, ‘He proposed marriage to me and I said yes.’ And, there was just pin-drop silence. And Ujjala’s face has just gone cold. Everybody wanted it to be a happy, memorable moment but I could sense the undercurrents. Everything has happened- hugs and celebrations. We went back home. I went into a room in their Bengaluru home. And I put my ear to the door and outside Amma and Deepika were having it out. She was saying, ‘Who is this guy? He has proposed marriage and you said yes also? This whole drama was going on outside. And I was like, ‘God save us!’ Then it took obviously years and a lot of work on my part to kind of make a place in Amma’s heart but now I think it has happened and I’m one of her favourite people in the world.”

Although there were a lot of the wedding photos of the couple there was no footage of the same. And this time, not only Deepika and Ranveer made a debut together at the show, but also unveiled the official wedding video and it’s it seems nothing less than a fairytale.
