Anil Kapoor is a renowned actor in India and is known to have starred in a number of films over the years. Recently, the actor reached out to Delhi’s court seeking protection over misusage of his personal rights by individuals for commercial gain. Delhi court passed an order on September 20, stating the protection over Anil’s personal rights. The order restrains the usage of actor’s image, name, voice or other elements for the monetary gains without permission.

The court stated,” Accordingly, the plaintiff has made out a prima facie case for grant of interim injunction. Defendants no 1-16 are restrained from utilising his name,
image, voice, likeliness or personality to make any merchandise, ringtones, or in any manner misuse the plaintiff's name, voice and other elements by
using technological tools such as artificial intelligence, face morphing, GIFs, either for monetary gains or for creating any videos for commercial purposes so as to result in violation of plaintiff's rights.”

The actor is also seeking protection against the misuse of his personality rights through use of any technology including artificial intelligence and others.
