72 Hoorain producer Ashoke Pandit gets police protection after receiving death threats amid controversies

Renowned filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, associated with the highly anticipated film 72 Hoorain as its co-producer, has been provided with police protection upon receiving major life threats related to the movie. The intense subject matter and controversial themes depicted in 72 Hoorain have stirred strong emotions, leading to concerns for Pandit's safety. The threats serve as a stark reminder of the potential risks faced by realistic filmmakers when tackling sensitive societal issues through their work.

72 Hoorain has been making waves for its hard-hitting portrayal of terrorism and the process of brainwashing that ensnares individuals. By delving into these challenging topics, the film aims to shed light on the root causes of radicalization and stimulate meaningful discussions. However, the contentious nature of the subject matter has triggered threats against Ashoke Pandit, highlighting the need for a respectful and open dialogue on such issues.

The provision of police protection to him at both his residence and office underscores the significance of ensuring the safety and security of artists and filmmakers. 72 Hoorain, which received a tremendous response at its special screening at JNU recently, releases in theatres today (July 7).

The movie is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, produced by Gulab Singh Tanwar, Kiran Dagar, Anirudh Tanwar, and co-produced by Ashoke Pandit. It stars Pavan Malhotra and Ameer Bashir in the lead.
