Shae Gill reacts to Satyaprem Ki Katha's Pasoori remake, says 'not nice to publicly humiliate and send hate'

The Hindi rendition of Ali Sethi and Shae Gill's Pakistani song Pasoori has been rejected by a section of people. Filmed specifically for Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's Satyaprem Ki Katha, Pasoori Nu released on June 26. Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar have sung the recreated version. Now, amid outrage on social media, Shae reacted to the recreation and came out in support of the makers of Satyaprem Ki Katha.

In a video statement on Instagram, Shae said, "I've been getting a lot of questions about whether this was my decision. Guys, I do not own the song. I do not have the rights, so I didn't sell it. I actually found out through you about the remake of the song. But also I wanted to talk about all of the hate that people have been sending towards the song. I understand that you love the original Pasoori song so much, can't even begin to express how grateful I am."

She further added, "But also, at the same time, I don't want you to be sending hate to someone else. Just look at it as a rendition rather than a remake, that'll help. If it is something that you don't like at all, then you don't listen to it instead of sending hate. Just don't listen to it. Not liking something and talking about it at home is still fine but if you're publicly humiliating and insulting someone then it is not very nice."

Ali and Shae's Pasoori released on Coke Studio in 2022.
