Anupam Kher hosted an event in Mumbai on April 13 to celebrate his best friend Satish Kaushik's birth anniversary. Remembering him fondly, the veteran actor and his colleagues paid a heartwarming tribute to him by cherishing the moments spent with the legendary actor-comedian. During the event, Anupam asked his friend Anil Kapoor to join him on stage.
While Anil was reluctant, Anupam encouraged him by saying, "Heroes always cry, come and friends cry." The actor got up and walked a few steps. However, he broke down before reaching the stage and said he wouldn't make it. As he returned to his seat, Anupam also got emotional and cried. He said, "Anil tu pagal hai. Main theek thaak ja raha tha."
Anupam recalled his last conversation with Satish. He said, "On the 9th (March), 7th he came on my birthday, he called me up, maine kaha, 'Tu bohut thaka hua sound kar raha hai'. Kyun aisa kar raha hai? Tu aisa kar hospital mein chala ja, check-in kar, don't admit yourself, go and check in'. Toh usne kaha, 'Don't worry, main abhi marne waala nahi hoon'. And after three hours he, unfortunately, left us."
Satish passed away in NCR due to a massive cardiac arrest.
