Actor Deepak Kalra is known for his roles in Guilty Minds, Jai Mummy Di, and Bittoo Boss. He began his career as a junior artist in the film Rockstar and climbed his way up to the top. His role in Gumraah as 'Chaddi' is a childhood friend of Ronnie aka Aditya Roy Kapur. In the film, Chaddi helps Ronnie with the small cons and petty thefts. Deepak will also be seen sharing the screen with Mrunal Thakur in the film.
Deepak revealed that the movie is based out of Delhi and most of the scenes were shot in live locations in the city. The actor is Delhi born and hence knows the city to its core. He often took Aditya for the food rides to have the best street food experiences and treated the cast and crew to homemade food. He shared a morning breakfast experience with Aditya while shooting at Paharganj. He said, "Humne subha shoot khatam kari thi aur Aditya bhai aur mujhe bhook lag rahi thi toh main Aditya bhai ko Paharganj station ke pass ek street food shop pe leke gaya jaha pe bohot tasty kachori aur aloo ki sabzi milti hai. Unko woh khake bohot maza aya tha tha aur humne fans ke sath bhi waha photos click kiye thee."
The actor while talking about his shooting experience on live locations in Delhi revealed his love for the most iconic electronic market in the country. The Gaffar market is well known for its cheap electric items and mobile repairs. Deepak said, "I was always fond of mobile phones, CDs, Mp3, etc so I spent a lot of time in Delhi's Gaffar market, and in a way, I have spent my childhood there. I would visit that place at least twice a week. It was exciting to shoot in that place and we are the first ever film to be shot in Gaffar market". The actor felt nostalgic to shoot at the place where he has spent most of his time and he was happy to be able to shoot at the location.
The film is a crime thriller and it is due to release on April 7, 2023, in theatres. The film is directed by Vardhan Ketkar and features Aditya Roy Kapur in a double role. Deepak will be seen playing childhood friend of Aditya in the film and help in defining the role of Ronnie. The movie will revolve around the murder and finding the killer. Mrunal Thakur will be seen playing the cop in the film.
