Actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away in Gurugram at the age of 66 this morning. His friend and colleague Anupam Kher confirmed the news of his sudden demise. Satish died after suffering a heart attack in the NCR. He was visiting his friend in Gurugram when his health deteriorated and he asked his driver to take him to the hospital. However, he suffered a heart attack in the car and could not be saved.
The actor, who made everyone laugh through his iconic roles throughout his career, did not have it easy on the personal front. Not many know but a mountain of sorrow came crashing down on the legendary actor after the demise of his 2-year-old son in 1996. The entire family was completely shocked, and it took a long time for the actor to recover from the grief. Satish, who married Shashi Kaushik in the year 1985, was blessed with a baby boy whom they had named Shanu. However, the little one passed away when he was 2 years old.
Post the demise of his son, the actor longed to embrace parenthood again. Almost 16 years later, post his son’s demise, Satish became a father again with the help of surrogacy. He was blessed with a daughter whom he named Vanshika in 2012. At that time, Satish was 56 years old.
Last year, Satish's daughter turned 10 and the actor wished her on Instagram with an adorable family photo. He wrote, "Vanshika my dearest daughter wishing u a Happy Birthday . U are 10 now and in these ten years u hv given us happiness calmness and joy . Life was so empty before u arrived but ur arrival this day made us jestful meaningful and more energetic . May god bless u always . Lv"
