Adipurush co-stars Kriti Sanon and Prabhas have been tackling dating rumours for the past couple of months. While they cleared the air and stated that rumours hold no truth, a section of people aren't ready to believe them. Now, a few days ago, there were reports on social media that Kriti will get engaged to Prabhas in the Maldives next week.
When self-proclaimed film critic Umair Sandhu tweeted, "BREAKING NEWS: #KritiSanon & #Prabhas will get engaged next week in Maldives!! So Happy for them,” netizens couldn't keep calm. However, putting an end to the false news, Prabhas' team issued a statement.

Dismissing the news of his engagement with Kriti, who is paired opposite him in Adipurush as Janki, Prabhas' team said in a statement to a leading daily, "Prabhas and Kriti are just friends. The news about them getting engaged is not true."
Rumours of Kriti and Prabhas' relationship gained ground after they displayed their PDA during the teaser launch of Adipurush in Ayodhya last year. Varun Dhawan unintentionally added fuel to the rumour by hinting at the actress' dating life. It was clarified immediately by Kriti. She wrote on her Instagram stories, "It's neither pyaar, nor PR...our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his fun banter lead to some Howl-arious rumours. Before some portal announces my wedding date - let me burst your bubble. The rumours are ABSOLUTELY baseless."
Later, on a talk show, Prabhas put an end to rumours once again and said, "It’s old news, sir. There was also a clarification from the ‘madam’ (Kriti Sanon) that there was no such thing."
