Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles is the official remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same name in which Nani and Shraddha Srinath portrayed the central characters. The film has hit the theatres yesterday and the first day's box office numbers are here. Even though Jersey received good reviews from movie critics, it did not manager to garner great numbers at the box office.
Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel tweeted the figures on Saturday morning. “#Jersey Friday- 4 cr nett approx. Saturday biz should witness growth,” he wrote. Meanwhile, another analyst Taran Adarsh gave the latest figures for KGF 2 Hindi, saying it wasn't affected by the release of Jersey. “#KGF2 continues its Blockbuster run... Jersey was supposed to release on April 15 along with KGF Chapter 2. To avoid direct competition with the magnum opus, the makers of Jersey postponed it by one week and released it in theatres on April 22.
Jersey, presented by Allu Arvind, produced by Dil Raju, S. Naga Vamsi and Aman Gill, has been directed by the original director Gowtam Tinnanuri, and it also stars Shahid's father Pankaj Kapoor.
