After filing a case against certain TV news channels & others in honorable Delhi High Court, there has been an update on the suit filed by film industry associations and production houses. Producers Guild of India shared the update and informed that the matter has been 'settled' and accepted by the Hon'ble Delhi High Court and decreed in favour of the Plaintiffs.
Sharing the news, the Producers Guild Of India issued a notice that read, "This refers to the Suit (CS OS No. 337 of 2020) filed in the Delhi High Court by 4 film associations and 34 production houses forming part of Bollywood industry (Plaintiffs) against certain television news channels, editors and anchors, including Aaj Tak through its owner, T.V. Today Network Ltd. The Plaintiffs are pleased to confirm that they have settled the matter with Aaj Tak, and the joint application for settlement as filed by Plaintiffs and Aaj Tak, has been accepted by the Hon'ble Delhi High Court and decreed in favour of the Plaintiffs."

The notice further added, "As per the terms agreed in the settlement application, T.V. Today Network undertakes that it will adhere to and abide by the regulations relating to content as applicable and undertakes not to publish or air any news item that is derogatory about Bollywood Industry as a collective, leading to defamation of the Plaintiffs (including the members and office bearers of the Plaintiff film associations, and the Directors and Shareholders, Partners and Proprietors of the Plaintiff production houses)."
The case was filed in 2020 and it was revealed on behalf of Bollywood production houses that the civil suit was not against certain media houses or channels but the entire media industry.
