Shanaya Kapoor, Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada to lead Karan Johar-Shashank Khaitan's Bedhadak

Karan Johar, who has played a catalyst in introducing young talents to the world of cinema, will be launching new actors and actresses under his wings in 2022. Known to give celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria and many others a big break in the industry, the filmmaker will be backing some beautiful stories. 

Today, Karan announced his new film titled Bedhadak. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film will be led by newcomers Shanaya Kapoor, Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada. Lakshya's look as Karan was unveiled first. Formerly known as Laksh Lalvani, the young actor has acted in television shows like PorusLakshya was to make his big Bollywood debut with Dostana 2. However, after Kartik Aaryan's exit in the middle of the shoot, the film has gone back to the drawing-room. Karan, in a statement, had mentioned that Dostana 2 will be remade with a different cast. The film starred Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.

Shanaya, the daughter of Maheep and Sanjay Kapoor, has followed the footsteps of her family members. After working as an assistant director on her cousin Janhvi Kapoor's Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, she is all set to face the cameras. The young diva started preparing for her acting career several years ago. A social media sensation, Shanaya is the current talk of the town. In her debut, Shanaya will play the role of Nimrit.

Gurfateh is not new to acting. He played the lead opposite Kiara Advani and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor's Netflix film Guilty. His sister Mehreen Pirzada is also an actress and in the Hindi belt, she is known for her work in Anushka Sharma's Phillauri. Gurfateh will play Angad in Bedhadak.
