Highly premature to say that there’s no evidence against Aryan Khan, probe still in progress: NCB SIT Chief Sanjay Singh

Big relief came in for Aryan Khan as it was reported that no evidence supported that the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan & Gauri Khan was part of a larger drugs conspiracy or an international drugs trafficking syndicate. It was said that there were several irregularities in the raid on the yacht Cordelia during which Aryan was arrested, according to a few media reports.

However, this morning, Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) refuted media reports that claimed Aryan was framed in the case and there was no evidence against him. SIT chief and NCB DDG (operation) Sanjay Singh today termed the reports ‘highly premature’ and added that the SIT has not reached any conclusion so far, reported a news agency. “(It is) highly premature to say that there’s no evidence against Aryan Khan. The probe is still in progress. We have recorded multiple statements and have not reached any conclusion yet,” said Kumar.

It was alleged that no evidence was found against Aryan in the case or his involvement in a larger drug conspiracy on an international drugs trafficking syndicate. The report also claimed that there were several irregularities in the cruise ship raid, found the SIT.

For the unversed, Aryan was arrested by the anti-drugs agency on October 3 following a raid on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. On October 28 -- three weeks after the arrest -- he was granted bail by the Bombay High Court, which found multiple holes in the agency's case against him.
