Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are in Berlin to attend the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival. Their film Gangubai Kathiawadi will have its world premiere at the festival. During a press conference, Bhansali praised Alia for portraying the character perfectly. He further added that the actress has become more of Gangubai in real life. The filmmaker revealed Alia's boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor complains that she, in personal life too, is behaving like her character.
"I think Alia for a long time is going to live in being Gangubai because she has played it to the hilt. I think she has become more Gangubai than Alia in real life. Her boyfriend complains about her speaking like Gangubai at home and it’s just completely becoming one with the character. Now it’s just a director’s delight to see that the girl who comes out of the car at the studio is not Alia, it’s Gangu. She would walk like Gangu on the set, she would go home walking like Gangu," Bhansali told.

Interestingly, Bhansali launched Ranbir, who fell in love with Alia on Brahmastra's set. The actor played the lead in Saawariya (2007) opposite Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. Ranbir has been supporting Alia and her film Gangubai Kathiawadi. After the film's trailer was launched, he was seen recreating Gangubai's signature namaste in the city for the paparazzi. Alia showered love on her beau for his gesture.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios). The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa and Shantanu Maheshwari. It will release in theatres on February 25.
