Punjabi actor turned activist Deep Sidhu lost his life in a road accident that took place on Tuesday night. Deep was travelling from Delhi to Bhatinda when his SUV rammed a trailer truck at 9:30 pm on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. He was with his girlfriend Reena Rai. While Deep breathed his last during the treatment, Reena survived. 

Now, according to the latest development, Deep's brother Surjeet has filed an FIR against the truck driver who reportedly "applied brakes suddenly". FIRs under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) & 304A (causing death by negligence) have been filed.

Deep made headlines for supporting a tractor rally by farmers on Republic Day 2021. He was accused of instigating protesting farmers when things took a violent turn at the Red Fort. Deep went missing but the Punjab police traced him and also arrested him. Days later, he was granted bail. However, in April 2021, he was reportedly arrested again for allegedly damaging public property during the violence. He was released soon.
