The nation woke up to the tragic and heartbreaking news of Bappi Lahiri's demise at the age of 69. Known as Bollywood's Disco King, Bappi Da, born as Alokesh Lahiri in Jalpaiguri to singer and musician parents, was also famous for his fascination for gold. He breathed his last on Tuesday night at Mumbai's Criticare Hospital where he was admitted for almost a month.
Bappi Da, who often share pictures and videos on his Instagram account, had uploaded a black and white throwback image of himself just two days before his demise. Sporting long locks, the legendary singer carried a natural swag. The caption of the picture read, "Old is always gold."

In the last 10 days, India lost two of its gems- Lata Mangeshkar and Bappi Lahiri. On Lata Didi's demise, Bappi Da shared a rare picture with her and wrote, "Maa!"
