Don't put me under so much pressure: Kriti Sanon on being called ‘female Aamir Khan’ for her weight transformations for Mimi

Kriti Sanon garnered a lot of rave reviews for her performance in Laxman Utekar’s Mimi. She also received a lot of praise for gaining weight to do justice to the role of a pregnant lady who gains weight as her pregnancy proceeds. Kriti gained 15 kgs for her role in the film. In a recent interview, the actress was compared to Aamir Khan and called ‘female Aamir Khan’ as she underwent weight transformations for her role. However, the actress was humble enough to stay away from the comparison.

During an interaction with an online portal, Kriti was asked if she can be called 'female Aamir Khan'. The actress said, “Nahi nahi itna zyada pressure mat dijiye. Aamir Khan sir ko touch karna bohot door ki baat hain (No, no, don't put me under so much pressure. It's a long way to being compared with Aamir Khan).”

She further added and said, “But yes main itna bol sakti hoon ki jab aap itna mehnat karte hain, aur itna passion se ek character ko jeete hain...aur jab woh bohot saraya jaata hain...jab log aapke kaam ko dekte hai..tab wo satisfaction aata hain (But I can say that when people appreciate you for a character which you have essayed with passion, there's a feeling of satisfaction)."

Mimi also starred Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak Kapur. The film was produced by Dinesh Vijan under his production banner Maddock Films and was a remake of Samroudhhi Porey's National Award-winning, Marathi film, Mala Aai Vhhaychy! (2011).
