"We are here to win," says Ranveer Singh as former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev who led the Men In Blue to success at the 1983 World Cup in the trailer of Kabir Khan's Christmas release titled '83. The actor plays the lead role in the film co-starring Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree and Pankaj Tripathi.
The makers of '83 dropped in the much-awaited trailer of the film on YouTube. The 3 minutes 50 seconds long video highlights Team India's journey from being unsuccessful to saving the izzat of the nation by bringing home the coveted World Cup after defeating champions West Indies. Amid stressful innings, Kapil, played by Ranveer, gets support from his wife Romi (Deepika). Ranveer as Kapil excels in every frame. With his co-stars, the actor delivers a goosebump-inducing trailer.
Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films present '83, a Kabir Khan Films Production. A Reliance Entertainment and PVR Pictures release slated on December 24 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film will also release in 3D.
