Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan to star in Laxman Utekar's slice of life film?

Laxman Utekar directed one of Bollywood's best films of 2021- Mimi. Starring Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar among others, the film revolved around surrogacy and adoption. It released on Jio Cinema as well as Netflix on July 26. Now, as per an entertainment portal's report, Laxman has started working on his next directorial. He is said to be collaborating with Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films for the third time. 

According to the portal, Laxman will be directing a slice of life film with fun twists and a social message. Reportedly, he locked the script a while ago and did a narration with Maddock Films, who loved the idea. As per the portal's report, the production house was keen on roping in a fresh pair and have reportedly locked Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan to play the leads. The film is expected to go on floors in November this year.

Sara was finalised to play the female lead in Vicky's sci-fi mythological The Immortal Ashwatthama. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Vicky had started his physical preparation for the role. However, in the month of August, it was put on hold. PeepingMoon sources revealed that the budget of The Immortal Ashwatthama was over Rs. 300 crore and the makers decided to wait till the pandemic situation normalises. 

Workwise, Vicky is busy shooting for Shashank Khaitan's film. His film Sardar Udham will release on Amazon Prime Video on October 16. Sara will be seen in Atrangi Re. Reportedly, she'll start shooting for Laxman's film after wrapping Pavan Kirpalani's Gaslight with Vikrant Massey. It is expected to go on floors in October.
