Trinamool Congress MP and Bengali actress Nusrat Jahan has welcomed her first child this afternoon. Nusrat gave birth to a baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata. According to reports, the actress's rumoured boyfriend, actor Yash Dasgupta, was with her throughout. Reportedly, he drove her to the hospital on Wednesday night around 11 pm. The hospital sources told the daily that Nusrat and her baby are doing fine now and there are no complications as of now.
Reportedly, Nusrat was due in late August or early September. As per the report, the baby's weight is 2.9 kgs and hence the doctors didn't put him in the intensive care unit. The child was welcomed amid tight security at the hospital. It is said that Nusrat requested the doctors to allow Yash to be present during the C-section delivery that took place at around 1 pm today.
Nusrat's friend and Bengali actress Mimi Chakraborty congratulated the new mother in town. She tweeted, "Congratulations @nusratchirps wish could hug in personal. Love and hugs."

In the month of June, Nusrat issued a statement saying her marriage with Kolkata-based businessman Nikhil Jain was never valid as an interfaith marriage in India has to be registered under the Special Marriage Act, which never happened and so the question of divorce doesn't arise. The TMC MP married Jain in June 2019 in Turkey. The wedding ceremony was conducted according to the Turkish Marriage Regulation.
Soon after the statement was released, people speculated Nusrat is in a relationship with Yash. Days later, pictures of Nusrat flaunting her baby bump confirmed the fact that she is expecting her first child.
