On National Cancer Survivors Day, Sonali Bendre and Tahira Kashyap recall their journey, say 'never be ashamed of a scar'

Actress Sonali Bendre, who is a cancer survivor, shared on Instagram how she does not let the 'C word' define her life. Sharing a collage of a photo from her cancer days in 2018 and a present picture, Sonali penned an empowering note. 

Sonali took to Instagram and shared, "How time flies... today when I look back, I see strength, I see weakness but most importantly I see the will to not let the C word define how my life will be after it..." She continued, "You create the life you choose. The journey is what you make of it... so remember to take #OneDayAtATime and to #SwitchOnTheSunshine #CancerSurvivorsDay."

Sonali Bendre was undergoing treatment for cancer in New York in 2018, where she was accompanied by her filmmaker husband Goldie Behl and was frequently visited by their son Ranveer. She returned to Mumbai after treatment in December 2018.

Tahira Kashyap also shared a photo from her post-cancer shoot. She wrote, "Never be ashamed of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you. Everyone has scars, whether you can see them or not. Wears yours with pride".
