It seems Bollywood is currently obsessed with the Hindu epic Ramayan. Not just one, but multiple retellings are on the way. The epic will be retold in Prabhas-Kriti Sanon-Saif Ali Khan's Adipurush and Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan which is yet to go on floors. Now, there is another version that is being charted out. According to an entertainment portal's report, Bahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad has conceptualised and is written a film that will be told from Sita's point of view. Reportedly, it is titled Sita and will be directed by Alaukik Desai. A source close to the development told the portal that Ranveer Singh has been approached to play Raavan while Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt might bag the titular role.
"Sita will be mounted on a huge scale and the magnitude of the film will be as big as a Baahubali. While it's a toss-up between Kareena and Alia for the main role, the makers (director Alaukik Desai) have approached Ranveer Singh to play Ravana. Yes, if this happens, it might be the first-ever film that Ranveer and Kareena will be doing together. They were supposed to do Ram Leela but it didn't work out. From what we know, both Bebo and Ranveer have loved their parts and are waiting for the final narration to give a go ahead to the project," the source told.

PeepingMoon.com, in an exclusive on May 12, informed its readers that Kareena or Deepika Padukone might star opposite Hrithik Roshan and Mahesh Babu in Nitesh's big-ticket three-part Ramayan retelling.
Workwise, Kareena is on maternity leave after welcoming her second son. Alia is busy with Gangubai Kathiawadi and Brahmastra. She has RRR and Darlings in the pipeline including a few films that are yet to be announced. Ranveer is waiting for the release of '83, Sooryavanshi and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The actor is working on Cirkus with Rohit Shetty and has signed the Hindi remake of Anniyan directed by Shankar.
