Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s film My Name Is Khan completed 11 years today. To celebrate this milestone, director-producer Karan Johar dedicated a special note to the team of My Name Is Khan and wrote why he will cherish this story forever. He also shared a video montage with clippings from the film on Instagram.
In his post, Karan also mentioned how the film that released 11 years ago is still so relevant in today’s date. “All we have is our stories and this one will be cherished forever. Thank you bhai for being the soul of this film. Kajol for being an unbreakable rock to Rizwan and us. To Shibani for writing a story that is still relevant in today's world... And to the entire team that embarked on this challenging journey together. I will always be grateful to each and every one of you (sic),” Karan Johar’s note read.
Shah Rukh also dedicated a post to the film but it is his salt n pepper look that took everyone's attention. In the photograph shared on social media, SRK looked rather sporty and it seemed that he had just gotten done with his workout session. Taking to Twitter, SRK wrote, "Find celebrating ‘X’ number of yrs of a film on social media repetitive , as its become more like a yearly birthday wish rather than a milestone." He added, "But just saw #11YearsOfMyNameIsKhan and felt like saying, I think everybody involved with the film did a very fine job of it."
My Name Is Khan traces the journey of an autistic man Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan). He marries Mandira, a hairdresser and a single mother. Mandira’s son Sameer is killed following the 9/11 attacks. A devastated Mandira blames Rizwan for his son’s death and asks him to meet the US President and convince him neither he nor his son is a terrorist. Rizwan takes it very seriously and tries every means to meet the President and win Mandira back.
