When they own you like they owned my mom, you feel you belong to them: Janhvi Kapoor hopes to get the same love and acceptance from audience as mother Sridevi

Janhvi Kapoor, who made a smashing debut in July 2018 with Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak alongside Ishaan Khatter, became one of the most promising debutantes. However, the actress, just like her contemporaries is often under the scanner of comparisons. Recently, talking to a daily, Janhvi said that when the audience owns her like they owned her mother - late legendary actress Sridevi - she will feel she belongs to them.

Janhvi said, “I focus on my work and do what I love to the best of my abilities. I am looking for opportunities where I can be the best. Competition means different to different people. It may not be necessarily box office numbers. If you know, you know, maybe it’s an award or the feeling that you are loved by audiences. When you have that, you just know. When they own you, like they owned my mom (late actor Sridevi), you feel you belong to them.”

On the work front, Janhvi was last seen in the digitally-released film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. She will next feature in Good Luck Jerry, which is currently being shot in Punjab.

Directed by Sidharth Sengupta and written by Pankaj Matta, the film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Meeta Vashishth, Neeraj Sood and Sushant Singh. Her other films lined up are Roohi Afzana and Dostana 2.
