Vikrant Massey and Tanya Maniktala to share screen space with Vijay Sethupathi in Santosh Sivan's 'Maanagaram' Hindi remake

Its official now, Vikrant Massey will headline Santosh Sivan’s Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 2017 Tamil hit Maanagaram. The original film starred Sriram Natarajan, Sundeep Kishan and Regina Cassandra in the lead. Vikrant took to social media to announce the title launch of the film will take place on New Year, January 1, 2021. The film will also have southern superstar Vijay Sethupathy.

The yet-untitled film will also star Tanya Maniktala, Sanjay Mishra, Sachin Khedekar, Ranvir Shorey and others. The music has been composed by Prashant Pillai. Vikrant will essay the role of small-town guy who comes to the city to attend an interview for a job in a BPO, played by Sriram in the original.

As per our sources, the Hindi remake of Maanagaram will be set in Mumbai unlike the original that focused on Chennai. The film is produced by Shibu Thameens under his home banner, Thameens Films. Sivan who's lately been making films in the regional languages will be returning to Hindi film direction after 12 years with this yet-untitled film that has been written by Amit Joshi (Trapped) and Aradhana Debnath.
