Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey' shoot in Chandigarh deferred due to the ongoing farmers' protest?

 

The pandemic is in full force but the unlocking phase has allowed the film industry to put itself back on track. Several filmmakers have commenced shooting already. Shahid Kapoor who was shooting for the Hindi remake of Telugu film Jersey before the pandemic was all set to head to Chandigarh for the final schedule of the film. However, with the farmers' protest being at its peak in Punjab and Haryana, the makers of the film had to reportedly slash down the shoot for now. 

"Days into the shoot in Chandigarh, the makers felt it would be difficult to pull off the remaining shoot amid the current scenario. So, the team quickly changed their plan and headed to Dehradun last week. Shahid, Mrunal Thakur and the cast will film certain portions in the Uttarakhand capital over the next few days and will return to Chandigarh in the last leg of the schedule. They have about three days' work left in the city," revealed a source.

The cast and crew of the film had been shooting in Chandigarh earlier this year when the announcement to stall all shoots, pre-production and post-production work came about.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Jersey is presented by Allu Aravind and produced by Aman Gill, Dil Raju and S Naga Vamsi.
