Rakul Preet Singh reveals her first film audition was for Parineeti Chopra's and Arjun Kapoor's 'Ishaqzaade'

After starting her career in the South film industry, the Femina Miss India pageant participant Rakul Preet Singh entered into Bollywood with Divya Khosla Kumar's directorial debut Yaariyan in 2014. Six years into the industry, Rakul has a lineup of interesting films in the South as well as Bollywood. Recently, during an interview with an entertainment portal, the actress revealed that her first film audition was for Ishaqzaade (2012). 

Rakul told that she had started modelling and auditioned for ad films too. "I think I was 19 and I had just started modeling. I did auditions for ads – if you are counting that then I was 18 at the time. My first film audition was for actually Ishaqzaade," she told.

Ishaqzaade marked the Bollywood debut of Arjun Kapoor. The Habib Faisal directorial was Parineeti Chopra's second film and first as the leading lady. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film went on to become a commercial and critical success.

Workwise, Rakul will be seen sharing the screen space with Arjun, John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari in Kaashvie Nair's cross-border rom-com. She also has Thank God with Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra.
