Drugs prevalent in Bollywood but wrongdoings of a few not reflection of entire industry: Akshay Kumar

Bollywood is reeling under the aspersions and allegations cast on it after the drug case came afoot. The public sentiment is highly negative and people have resorted to throwing unnecessary brickbats on Bollywood celebs that do not have anything to do with the case that the NCB are investigating.

Most of the A-listers have chosen to stay mum rather than join in the fray and get trolled by netizens. However, today Akshay Kumar shared a video wherein he accepted that the drug problem is there in the industry but that does not mean that every individual is associated with it. He said that people should not judge the entire Hindi film industry by the actions of a few miscreants.

Akshay said that actors are called stars but they are made by the people and they have always stood by the country and the people through charities, lending support and propagating social issues for the betterment of society. He said our films propagated our culture, values  and religion to different parts of the world. Hence it is wrong to subject them to the relentless attack that the public is doing right now and holding the entire industry responsible for the wrongdoings of a few.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay returned to Mumbai today after wrapping up the shoot of his film Bell Bottom. It is the first film to start and wrap its shoot amid the pandemic. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta.
