Shahid Kapoor to resume work on Jersey by month-end in Chandigarh?

Shahid Kapoor's Jersey co-starring Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur is amongst the several films affected due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Now, six months after the shoot of the sports drama was stalled in Chandigarh, the team is reportedly gearing up to resume work. Jersey, the Hindi remake of Nani's blockbuster film of the same name, will see Shahid play the role of a failed cricketer who makes a comeback in his thirties to fulfill his son's desire. A source close to the film told a leading daily that Shahid along with the team of Jersey will return to Chandigarh by September-end to wrap the last 15 days' work.

The source then added that the actor will have to brush up his cricket skills before shooting and he will begin training by next week. "About 15 days' work is pending. However, before he returns to face the camera, Shahid will have to brush up on his cricket skills as crucial sports scenes will be shot in this schedule. The actor is likely to begin training next week," the source told.

Shahid's father Pankaj, who is playing the role of his coach, told the daily, "Recently, I was asked whether I would be comfortable shooting amid the current restrictions and I gave my nod. The makers are working out the logistics."

Directed by Gowtham Tinnauri, Jersey is jointly produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts and Aman Gill's Brat Films. It was scheduled to release in theatres on August 28, 2020, but is delayed due to the pandemic.
