Saif Ali Khan, in his last outing Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, left everyone stunned with his villainous act as Udaybhan Rathod. Now, he is all set to step into the shoes of Lankesh in Om Raut's magnum opus Adipurush that has Prabhas playing the role of Prabhu Ram. Adipurush will be Saif's second collaboration with Om, who made his directorial debut with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Describing Lankesh as the world's most intelligent demon who existed 7000 years ago, the makers of Adipurush announced that Saif has been signed for the role of the prime antagonist. "7000 years ago existed the world's most intelligent demon!" director Om wrote while sharing a poster.
Adipurush which is based on a popular chapter of Indian mythology, will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair. The film that celebrates the triumph of good over evil is currently in the pre-production stage. Prabhas will undergo physical training to attain the physique of an archer. Rumours are rife that Keerthy Suresh is being considered to play the role of Sita.
The magnum opus 3D film is likely to go on floors in 2021. It will release in theatres in 2022. Adipurush will be shot in Hindi and Telugu and dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
