Ishaan Khatter’s and Tabu’s ‘A Suitable Boy’ to close Toronto International Film Festival 2020

The Toronto International Film Festival announced the feature film lineup for this year’s edition. It made every Indian moviebuffs’ day by announcing Mira Nair’s BBC adaptation of Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy as the closing-night presentation of TIFF 2020. Ishaan Khatter took to Instagram to share the momentous occasion.

Sharing a video clip of the series, he wrote, “Elated to share that #ASuitableBoy is the closing presentation for @tiff_net.” The series is currently airing on consecutive Sundays in the United Kingdom and is a six-part production written By Andrew Davies. A TIFF press release stated that a “strong representation of women, Black people, Indigenous people, and people of colour” among the selection reflected the organisation’s ”continuing commitment to normalising gender parity and racial equality for future generations”.
