Nawazuddin Siddiqui mentors aspiring actors through a virtual programme; Shaan, Madhur Bhandarkar join him

Bollywood celebrities, amid the lockdown, made the most of their time. Be it spending time with family, cooking or learning a new skill, these four months have been busy for the celebrities in their own unique way. While many were taking the creative route, Nawazuddin Siddiqui turned teacher for aspiring actors at Celebrity School, a talent-driven learning platform. According to a leading daily's report, the actor along with filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and singer Shaan have helmed a course in acting, independent filmmaking and singing respective. The course related to communication skills is led by Sabira Merchant while entrepreneurship programme is by businessman Siddharth Prabhakar, who is also the founder of the platform.

The programme was reportedly started in September last year with mentors pre-recording their sessions for students. However, thanks to the lockdown, they got enough time to interact with them via live sessions. The mentors, in these four months, engaged and devoted more time to the mentees with the virtual sessions.

Talking about his course that is divided into 10 sections, Madhur told the leading daily that it enables to students to understand every aspect of filmmaking carefully. At the end of the course, the student will be able to develop a full-flegded script and know how to handle a large crew. "For any aspiring artiste, access to a good mentor can fuel his passion and help [hone] his talent. In these unprecedented times, the online academy has ensured that the learning continues for young talent," Madhur told.

Speaking of the course and how it was conceptualised, Siddharth told, "The dreams of many kids die a slow death owing to lack of affordability and accessibility to courses that will help them build a career in the show business. Last year, I decided to develop a platform with the help of some leading celebrities who can directly share their knowledge with the students"
