Shah Rukh Khan's immigration social drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani to move between Punjab and Canada?

PeepingMoon.com, in an exclusive piece dated June 19, 2020, informed its readers that Shah Rukh Khan's next with Rajkumar Hirani is a lighthearted social drama set against the backdrop of immigration. It was also reported that the superstar has asked the director to fine-tune the script with Abhijat Joshi-Kanika Dhillon and start possible pre-production work virtually so that the film can go on floors after October this year. Now, in the latest development, a report of a leading daily has it that the story of the yet-to-be-titled project will move between Punjab and Canada.

Informing that Shah Rukh's character is different from what he has done in the past, a source close to the development told that the superstar is growing his hair for the part. "Like all Raju films, it revolves around a serious, globally relevant issue and is treated with gentle humour. The story moves between Punjab and Canada. This guy is jovial, he’ll make you laugh and get emotional. Shah Rukh is growing his hair for the part," the source told.

Talking about the project and its development, the source said Rajkumar, Abhijat and Kanika are giving final touches to the script and then a new schedule will be chalked out. The location scouting will begin only after travel restrictions are eased. "The trio is currently giving finishing touch to the script, after which the team will chalk out a new schedule. The film requires a long outdoor shoot abroad and they will wait till travel restrictions are eased. If things get back to normal soon, it should kick off before the year ends," the source said.
