Saroj Khan was my strong partner in grooming Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Subhash Ghai mourns 'Choli Ke Peeche' fame choreographer's death

Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan, on July 3, breathed her last at a hospital in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. She was reportedly admitted a couple of days ago after she complained of breathlessness, dizziness and sore throat. She was suffering from severe diabetes and age-related illness. The sudden demise of the veteran choreographer has sent Bollywood into mourning. Subhash Ghai, who teamed with the veteran choreographer for Khalnayak, Hero, Taal and others, offered condolence on her demise. In a statement, he credited her for grooming actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Meenakshi Sheshadri with him, the filmmaker said she will live in the history of choreography. 

"AN ERA HAS GONE. absolutely my personal loss. an integral part of our Mukta arts family- my strong partner in grooming stars like Madhuri Meenaxi Manisha n Aishwarya  Master of masters  Saroj Khan will live in history of choreography of Indian cinema indeed. Bye JAAN.  RIP," Subhash said in his statement.

Saroj Khan started her career as a background dancer at the age of three and was honoured with three National Awards. Credited with choreographing over 2000 songs, her memorable numbers include Choli Ke Peeche (Khalnayak) Humko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar (Sailaab), Ek Do Teen (Tezaab), Hawa Hawai (Mr. India), Dhak Dhak Karne Laga (Beta), Dola Re Dola (Devdas), Barso Re Megha (Guru) and the recent Tabah Ho Gaye (Kalank).
