Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya Siddiqui has sent the actor a legal notice demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues in their married life. Aaliya confirmed the news to a channel that there were ‘serious problems’ in their marriage and she could not keep up the relationship further. However, she did not reveal the issues between both of them.
Nawazuddin and Aaliya have been married for over 10 years. Aaliya alleged that the problems have been there for several years and blamed Nawazuddin and his brother for it. She said that she ignored it for a long time but now she has decided to end the marriage and sought a divorce. Reportedly, her lawyer has sent a legal notice to the actor via email and on WhatsApp on May 7, but his response is still awaited.
Aaliya’s lawyer told the channel in a video message, “Yes, it is to confirm that we have sent a legal notice to Mr Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The notice was sent on behalf of Mrs Aaliya Siddiqui on May 7, 2020. Due to unprecedented COVID-19 times, the notice could not be sent through speed post. It has been sent through email as well as WhatsApp. Mrs Siddiqui, our client, has also sent the notice through WhatsApp. However, Mr Siddiqui has not responded till date. I think he is just keeping quiet regarding the notice and ignoring it. The notice has been sent claiming maintenance and divorce. I would not like to get into the details of the notice regarding what are the contents and what are the allegations, but let me tell you that the allegations are quite serious and those are very sensitive to Mr Siddiqui as well as his family members.”
Aaliya also informed another news channel that she had legally changed her name to Anjana Anand Kishore Pandey once again two months back. She is known by both her names Anjali and Anjana. Her father’s name is Anand Kishore Pandey.

On the other hand, Nawazuddin is currently in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh. He was issued a travel pass amid lockdown and the family is under home quarantine right now. The actor tweeted about it on social media as well.
