Watch: 'People would make fun that I don't look like my mother Sridevi and sister Janhvi Kapoor,' says Khushi Kapoor revealing childhood hardships

The younger daughter of late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor-Khushi Kapoor is already a social media darling. Be it her hilarious videos with elder sister Janhvi Kapoor or her impeccable fashion sense, the young girl knows to keep up with the vogue. While the mystery behind Khushi's Bollywood debut is yet to be decoded, she has guarded her personal life well. As fans are curious to know the real 'Khushi Kapoor', the 19-year-old spoke about her childhood, insecurities and much more in a montage of pictures and unseen videos. Titled Quarantine Tapes, Khushi got candid about herself on record.

Khushi, while lending her voiceover to the video, revealed that people would criticise her since childhood for not looking like her superstar mother Sridevi and her sister Janhvi. She further added that this gave birth to ‘self-esteem issues and insecurities'. The comparison with her mother and sister affected the way she dressed and ate. “People still s**t on me. I’m kind of shy and awkward. Obviously, sometimes, the hate gets to you, especially being so young. I just want people to know I am a real person. I didn’t really know how to handle it, so my self-esteem issues and insecurities stem from that. As a child, it affected the way I saw my parents. I didn’t look like my mom and I didn’t look like my sister, so sometimes, people would point that out and make fun of me. I wasn’t the healthiest about it at some point and it affected the way I would eat and the way I would dress," Khushi told.

Khushi further stated that after the phase of self-doubt, she understood to be happy in her own skin and love herself. “You just have to learn to be okay with yourself and in your own skin. I think that the way to deal with it is to say f**k it and put yourself out there and do whatever you feel like doing. I feel like people will appreciate you for it,” Khushi added.

Khushi is studying films in New York and is currently in Mumbai with Janhvi and father Boney amid Coronavirus lockdown.
