London-based VFX studio to work on Ranbir Kapoor's-Alia Bhatt's fantasy-drama 'Brahmastra'?

Ayan Mukerji's upcoming directorial Brahmastra is the talk of the town for quite some time now. The mythological fantasy starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the central roles is in the making for nearly two years now. After much delay, the makers of Brahmastra announced its release date as December 4. As the team was gearing up to shoot for the final 20 days of the film in Mumbai, the Coronavirus lockdown disrupted the schedule indefinitely. However, it seems director Ayan is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the work on Brahmastra progresses at a stable pace amid the lockdown. According to a leading daily's report, Ayan has finalised a London-based VFX studio to handle the extravagant visuals of the film. Sources close to the project told the daily that a large portion of the footages is sent to London for the team to start work on. A team of five is dealing with the visual effects as of now.

"A large portion of the footage has been sent to the London team so that it can begin working on the visual effects in this period. Aware that outsourcing the job and sharing the content can increase the risk of the film being leaked, Ayan wanted only a core team of experts working on it. The director handpicked a five-member team who are the only people in possession of the footage," the source told.

Brahmastra, according to the buzz, revolves around Shiva aka Ranbir, who can emit fire from his palms. The mythological fantasy is divided into three parts and the first of them might release this year if shoots resume in the next couple of months.  Brahmastra is produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions.
