Has Varun Dhawan given his nod to headline 'Bala' director Amar Kaushik's next produced by Dinesh Vijan?

It won't be wrong to say Varun Dhawan is one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood currently. With seven years in the industry, he has proven to be a versatile performer. While his recent films couldn't make it big at the box-office, the actor assures to bounce back soon. Now, as he awaits the release of his upcoming film Coolie No. 1, Varun seems to be looking out to explore different genres in the near future. Well, yes. According to reports, Varun is in talks with Amar Kaushik for a comedy. The director who has given back-to-back blockbusters with Stree and Bala, appears to have won the heart of the actor. So much so, Varun, during the screening of the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer, expressed his desire to collaborate with Amar. As per sources close to the development, the film reportedly produced by Dinesh Vijan could prove to be a game-changer for the Kalank actor.

“Varun and Amar have been discussing multiple films for collaboration for a while now and they have finally zeroed down on an idea. Amar is currently developing it further and will have a bound script ready in a couple of months' time. Varun and his filmmaker-father, David are both excited about the subject and believe that it would be a game-changer in the comic space,” the source told.

Workwise, Varun's Coolie No. 1 with Sara Ali Khan was scheduled to release on May 1. However, due to Coronavirus lockdown which will be lifted on May 3, the rom-com will get pushed ahead. Apart from that, he will be seen in Sriram Raghavan's next that is the biopic of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. The film is reportedly titled Ekkees. As per reports, Varun has been approached for the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Theri starring Thalapathy Vijay.
